AbbaFax Line
How AbbaFax work in Microsoft Fax Server
An important ability for fax server packages is to share fax resources among users. To determine the right recipient of an incoming fax
among thousands users is a key element. Microsoft
Fax Server supports several ways of achieving this. Each
method has its advantages and disadvantages. Overall, AbbaFax
routing is preferred for larger installations, and email
integration.

AbbaFax routing using AbbaFax line, users can be assigned personal
fax numbers without having to install physical fax lines for
each number which is different from traditional office or home phone
line.
The numbers of the line are passed to AbbaFax fax
module upon receiving the fax, and therefore Microsoft Fax
Server can route the fax to the correct user. AbbaFax routing is generally considered the most reliable form of
automatic inbound routing. AbbaFax requires you to purchase virtual
phone numbers from your telecom company, which you can assign to
users or departments. The virtual phone number (AbbaFax number) will
be passed to AbbaFax module so that Microsoft Fax Server knows to
whom the fax should be routed. The system process is completely
transparent to the caller and does not require any effort on
his/her part.
If you have installed multiple AbbaFax lines then you can assign each
AbbaFax number to each user or
destination. AbbaFax number appears the same as regular fax number
so that each user own a direct fax number. In User
database, you define each user profile route code match with the
assigned AbbaFax number. When someone send fax to the assigned
AbbaFax
number, Microsoft Fax will route to the user profile base on the
AbbaFax number match with user's Route Code. If user has email
address route enable in her user profile, the fax will be routed
to her email address so as for folder or auto print routes. |
